At Abide, we want to improve the quality of life for all through cooperation and co-operative living. This is our story!
The idea for Abide was conceived during this year’s QUT’s In Cahoots: Igniting innovation across generations. The folks at In Cahoots liked the idea of Abide so much that they backed us with $1000 in starter cash. Our founder, Andy Smith, was the driving force that kept Abide going following the In Cahoots event.
Afterwards, we set about refining our idea more. Doing market research, reaching out of our target customers and we are also working on our platform MVP. Our CTO, Tinni Choudhury, joined Abide to oversee the development of the platform with the help of QUT Students undertaking their final year.
We have had many small victories since In Cahoots. We placed 3rd place at the QUT Foundry IDEAS Launched Showcase Pitch Competition. As a result, we won $2000 to go towards are setup costs. A craft beer startup took 2nd place, and a rocketship startup won 1st place. So you can see, we know our idea is good since it takes beer and rocket science to beat us!
Abide is part of the Impact Boom Social Accelerator cohort of 2019. We are diligently working towards presenting out startup in front of the Brisbane Lord Mayor at the Triffid on the 6th of June!
We are only at the beginning of our journey. But we have a great team that believes that we cooperative co-living will enrich life across generations. Will you join us?
